Omani Spanish Friendship Association (OSFA), was founded in 2003 as Spanish Cultural Centre by the initiative of Honorary Consulate of Kingdom of Spain with the approval of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman.

From the beginning the centre was created as a result of Omani public demand to learn the Spanish language and culture. The Centre has started with 6 students and now we are happy to say that under the Omani Spanish Friendship Association, we had seen an enormous increase. As during the year 2007 more than 250 students had enrolled for Spanish language and cultural courses. The Association had offered a scholarship to two outstanding students to further their learning in Spanish language and culture in Lewis School in Barcelona in 2006.  This has been possible with the Sponsorship of Union Fenosa Gas Spain.

In 2007, the Omani government represented by the Ministry of Foreign invited us to create the Omani Spanish Friendship Association, a non profit association which consists of an agreement between people of Oman and Spain with an objective to strength the dialogue between this two countries. Seeing this as an opportunity for bringing the Omani Spanish culture based in our first initial objective to answer the interest of Omani in learning the language and knowing the Spanish culture. On the other hand, the Omani students who had an interest in the Spanish Culture are keen to also interchange through learning the Spanish Culture and showing the Omani culture to the Spanish Society.
